Here are the paper Silhouettes made from the photos. They were sent to the Customer to keep as well!

Product Information:

  SIZE: Charms are 1" high to the top of the "built-in" loop, not including the

attachment ring. the average width is approx .66".

HOW IT'S MADE: Each piece is hand pierced with an extra fine jeweler's saw. Details

like the bow shown on the little girl's charm can be handcrafted separately and hard soldered on

before the piece is hand finished.

TURNAROUND TIME: On average, 2 weeks is needed from receipt of the non-refundable

deposit, to guarantee their completion. 

ABOUT THE MATERIALS: The price quote

for anything other than sterling has a very short shelf life as gold and

platinum does change daily and can vary wildly over the course of 3-4 days.

So folks need to know that a price quoted is for that day and taking a week

to think on it may mean an increase in the price

An 1800's Christmas

The North Port Public Library in North Port, Florida held a Family Event on Sunday December 5th.

There were loads of activities and entertainment, and everything was FREE to the public!

Amongst the activities there were many crafts to make like sparkly pine cones, clothspin toy soldiers, corn husk dolls and Christmas earrings.

The entertainment included a clown historian and performer, the Silver Strings Dulcimer Band, a violinist, a saxophonist, a family of flute players, the Joyful Ringers Handbell Choir, Christmas Carolers, a Native American Flutist and Dancer...and of course Silhouettes!

Hand-Cut Silhouette Ornaments at Holiday Event

Kathryn made hand-cut Silhouette Christmas Ornaments on the spot at a recent holiday event.

A basket of brightly colored backings were  pre-made, all the sitter had to do was choose their backing, pose 90 seconds for their portrait, then make a ribbon loop to hang the ornament from.

The event took place at the lovely home of Attorney John and Tracy Bales of   

Bay Area Legal Services Inc.

Laser Cut Wood Jigsaw Puzzles

Kathryn was invited by Seattle, Washington based company Artifact Puzzles to become one of their puzzle designers. She gladly accepted this new venture, and is pleased to release the first three of her puzzle creations. These puzzles are for sale directly from the Artist, and can be purchased on her Etsy store:

This 310 piece puzzle is a painting of a charming flying machine by Russian neosurrealist Sergey Tyukanov. The pieces are connected with delightful cloud-shaped connectors and feature 15 themed whimsy pieces designed by silhouette artist Kathryn Flocken. Like all our puzzles, made with 1/4" thick wood in Seattle, USA. Packaged in a pine wood box.

This 156 piece piece puzzle features one of Monet's most famous paintings. The puzzle has 14 themed whimsy pieces including Monet himself and ladies with parasols, as well as delightful leaf-shaped and bird-shaped connectors, all designed by Silhouette Artist Kathyrn Flocken. The puzzle is laser-cut in Seattle USA out of 1/4" wood, and comes in a drawstring pouch.

This 293 piece puzzle features an 18th century painting of flowers by J. C. Roedig. The original painting was sold in auction for $1.8 million in 2009. This puzzle has over 20 themed whimsy pieces designed by Silhouette Artist Kathryn Flocken, as well as leaf shaped connectors. This puzzle is made of 1/4" thick wood and laser-cut. Packaged in a pine wood box.

 This puzzle is a map of the famous neighborhoods of San Francisco (Chinatown, the Presidio, Haight-Ashbury, etc.), with each neighborhood marked by a different San Francisco-related quote by famous authors such as Mark Twain, Thomas Pynchon, Maya Angelou, etc. The map was created by Ian Huebert. The puzzle has many San-Franciso themed whimsy pieces, designed by Silhouette Artist Kathryn Flocken. This puzzle is laser-cut 1/4" wood and made in Seattle, USA. This puzzle is packaged in a drawstring bag.

Pendant description:
The pendant you see in these pictures are made on oval craft wood. A jewelry grade resin is used over the top of the silhouette so it has a clear, glossy finish. The back and sides are painted black and then coated with a clear varnish. A sterling plated anaraku bail is then cemented to the back to create the pendant. The necklaces in the photos are an 18" satin rattail with lobster clasp.
